We are currently looking for an enthusiastic and entrepreneurial individual to take over this unique business in Aberdeen.
Marischal Tours was established in 2009 by entrepreneurs Rachael Hayward and Allan Hayes, running one main tour Aberdeen Ghost Walks. It has been the most amazing experience for us and we have enjoyed every moment of sharing our knowledge and appreciation of this historic city and its ghost stories with locals and visitors alike. However, we will both be leaving Aberdeen this summer and would love to see Aberdeen Ghost Walks pass over to someone else with the same enthusiasm and interest, to carry on our work and also develop the business to its full potential.
Since the establishment of Marischal Tours in June 2009 the business has grown rapidly in popularity and reputation. We now have regular group bookings which on average accommodate 30-40 people with large reputable companies across Aberdeenshire, including the University of Aberdeen, Robert Gordon University, Aberdeen City Council, PSN, Shell, BP and many more. Our ghost walks have also become very popular with smaller private bookings and our Haunted Weekend Walks which run once every month are always fully booked. This has been achieved through minimal free advertisement and through generating a good reputation by word of mouth. There is, therefore, huge potential for the business to double if not triple in size with the time and enthusiasm of the right person. Due to our own commitments we have never been able to fully optimise the potential of Marischal Tours and a number of opportunities still exist in providing alternative walks, ghost stories by candlelight and paranormal investigations, all services which have been requested on numerous occasions.
Marischal Tours and its main tour Aberdeen Ghost Walks is an easy to run and profitable small venture that is unique to Aberdeen City Centre. Our turnover for 2009 came to £5944, with minimal expenses. Due to the businesses unique stance in Aberdeen we are looking to sell the business for half the cost of its annual turnover, at the price of £2500. This cost includes access to the large array of contacts already established by Marischal Tours, our website, the script for Aberdeen Ghost Walks and access to all branding and images associated with it.
