Haunted Pubs

Old Blackfriars

A warm and friendly historic pub located on the corner of Castlegate dating back to the 1700's. A pub also home to a few more spirits, than those behind the bar! Food served everyday until 9:30pm.

Prince of Wales

A great range of real ales and a cosy atmosphere. Located just off an ally before the St Nicholas centre and serves good sunday lunches.

Old Kings Highway

Located on the Old Green, this is one of the oldest pubs in Aberdeen. Many ghost stories from poltergiest activity to disembodied voices haunt this pub and the surrounding are of the Green.

Historic Buildings

The Aberdeen Tolbooth

Serving as Aberdeen's gaol since 1393 the only remaining section of the Tolbooth, the Wardhouse, which was built between 1616 and 1629 is now open as a museum. Containing displays of crime and punishment, the original doors and chains used to imprison criminals and a number of reported ghostly experiences, the Tolbooth is a must see in Aberdeen.

Marischal College

The second biggest granite building in the world, Marischal College is hard to miss. Founded in 1593 as an alternative to the University of Aberdeen this impressive building has been an important landmark of this city, as well as playing its share in the mysterious body snatching scandals of the 1800's.

Provost Skenes House

One of the oldest houses of Aberdeen this building was preserved after narrowly escaping demolition in 1951. Inhabited for over 400 years it has had its fair share of famous residents including the Bloody Butcher of Cumberland and of course a number of chilling ghost stories. Open to the public all year as a museum it also has a lovely little cafe in the cellar.
